Our schedule is designed to give working professionals maximum flexibility to advance their business knowledge without interrupting their careers. Classes meet every other Saturday, and there are three periods of residency. The EMBA program is launched with an immersion week at Marquette and continues with on-campus meetings every other Saturday. The second residency is the international trip in spring or summer. The final residency kicks off the final semester and runs Thursday-Saturday.
You’ll spend valuable time in the classroom interacting with your fellow students - discussing, debating and problem solving. You will continue the learning online, accessing learning resources from the comfort and convenience of your home, office or anywhere in the world to accommodate your busy schedule. And you’ll work with your team to collaborate on projects that address important business challenges.
We realize that not all learning has to have everyone in the same place at the same time. We also know that each student has strengths and challenges in different areas. The online portion of the program allows students to focus more time on the areas they are challenged in and focus their growth where it is needed most. Our faculty have created a variety of methods to better convey what was traditional lecture material. Topics are segmented into smaller bits of knowledge and provided online for you to consume when and where it makes sense for you. Faculty use voiceover PowerPoints, short recorded lectures, online discussions, etc.. for transmitting this information and reserve class time for essential discussions and exchange of ideas. It is a true blend of the flexibility of online learning with the essential face-to-face debate and discussion with your classmates.

Classes meet from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. every other Saturday. The day is usually split into two-hour class intervals. A continental breakfast is served in the morning, a full meal is served at lunch, and snacks are served at the morning and afternoon breaks. Meals are included in the cost of tuition.

There are three periods of residency in the EMBA Program. These are opportunities for students to focus on learning new things and integrate knowledge into practice. We begin with immersion week, the first week of the program. It is usually the second or third full week of August. Classes meet from 7:45 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students will spend a reasonable amount of time during immersion week on the teams course but will also begin their other courses for the first term. We cap off immersion week with an integrative team experience. All students are required to participate in immersion week. Students have the option of staying in the hotel during immersion week. The cost of the hotel is included in tuition.
The second period of residency is the 10 to 12 day international trip. The international trip occurs sometime during the spring or summer term. The final destination will be determined one year in advance. All students are required to participate in the international trip. The international trip is an opportunity to explore how business work in another country. The program is made up of primarily company visits with lectures from top leaders in that organization, there are a couple of lectures from key faculty in the region, government visits and culture activities.
The final residency takes place at the start of the final semester. Classes meet from 7:45 a.m. – 5 .pm. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in mid-August. This is another opportunity to drive into topics that will be covered in the last term and to work closely with your classmates on transferring information into knowledge.
The EMBA program has review material/session in the areas of Accounting, Economics, Math, and Statistics. Each will be conducted a little differently but all will be done on-line with access to faculty as needed. It is expected that you will complete all four review sessions prior to Immersion Week.
For some, you will go through a review session material very quickly while others may need more time. Please begin this process early so that you have enough time to complete the material prior to Immersion Week.
Students will receive instructions about the review material via email. The review sessions will be available in July.
