Applications to the SBB program at Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for the fall term are accepted from January 1 to March 31 each year.

Applications from students already enrolled in the SBB program to the transfusion medicine program at Marquette University are accepted on a rolling basis, which means you may apply any time before the following dates:

• Fall term admissions- August 1 (June 1 for international applicants)
• Spring term admissions- December 15 (October 1 for international applicants)

These are the dates your application must be complete and all required documentation must be received in the Graduate School by these dates.

However, applicants who wish to be considered for merit-based financial aid (graduate assistantships/fellowships) should be aware of the merit-based financial aid deadlines by which all applicant materials must be received by the Graduate School:

• Fall (August) Term: February 15
• Spring (January) Term: November 15
• Summer (May) Term: April 15

Application Requirements

NOTE: Applicants MUST currently be enrolled in the SBB program at the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin, the Blood Center's independent course of study, in order to be eligible to apply for the master of science program in transfusion medicine at Marquette University; this is required and no exceptions will be made.

Read all application instructions prior to beginning an application.

• A completed online application form and fee.
• Transcripts:
  • If coursework was completed within the United States, submit copies of all current and previous college/universities except Marquette¹
  • If coursework was completed outside of the United States, a transcript evaluation is required. A copy of a course-by-course evaluation is approved for the application process.²
• Copies of all current and previous colleges/university transcripts except Marquette.¹
• Three letters of recommendation.
• A list of continuing education for the last two years.
• A letter of intent stating reasons for application to this program and how SBB certification will impact their professional life and further their career.
• For international applicants only: laboratory training records.
• For international applicants only: GRE scores.
• For international applicants only: TOEFL score or other acceptable proof of English proficiency.

Private scholarships may be available. U.S. citizens and permanent residents may be eligible to apply for need-based federal aid (loans) to help fund their educational expenses.
