Occupational Therapy
The Department of Occupational Therapy is currently offering a one-on-one virtual Q & A opportunity with a faculty member, for anyone who is interested in learning more about our program and our admissions process. We are also offering campus visits to tour our building, and have an opportunity to meet with professors and current OTD students. If you are interested in either, please email derek.taylor@marquette.edu to arrange an appointment.
A hugely deserved congratulations to our esteemed faculty on the inaugural graduating class of 2023!
Our program
Marquette’s entry-level clinical occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) program is a three-year (nine- semester) professional course of study designed to educate future leaders of a collaborative and culturally responsive workforce.
The mission of the university and college are influential components of the OTD curriculum design and are supportive of our desire to nurture graduates who will be discerning agents for change as professionals in practice. The OTD program goals are a natural corollary to the culture of a Jesuit research university located in the heart of a community with long-standing health disparities. The curriculum design operationalizes the OTD program goals of Practice Competence, Professional Identify, Servant Leadership and Critical Curiosity. To this end:
Marquette OTD graduates will have:
Practice Competence: the knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities necessary for valued occupational therapy practice
Professional Identity: a solid understanding of self as a professional
Marquette OTD graduates will be:
Servant Leaders: committed to lifelong self-development in the service of others
Critically Curious: imaginative, with the capacity to reflect on and process information for sound critical thinking toward action
