Residence Hall Selection process

Since the completion of the 2019-2020 residence hall selection process, we have received a few questions about our centralized waiting list and room change process.

Centralized Waiting List

Students who wish to be placed on the waiting list for a specific building can click on the Waiting List link in the Campus Living Portal and simply select the room type(s) available. Students who added themselves to the waiting list by April 12 will be prioritized based on their original assignment time and the list will be maintained throughout this summer and academic year.

If you wish to be reassigned with a preferred roommate you may invite them through the roommate group tool on the waiting list.  Requests must be mutual and all parties should submit a waiting list request.

If a space becomes available in your requested building or room type, you will be contacted via Marquette email and given 2 business days to accept the request or remain on the list for another space. You will not be reassigned without your authorization.

Note: You cannot submit a request until after you have completed the selection process.

Person – for – Person Room Changes

Any students who wish to make a person-for-person room change to another occupied room (e.g. switching roommates) must complete a room change form beginning Monday, April 29 and no later than Friday, May 11. All students who will be affected by the change (even those not changing rooms) must sign the form.

Completed forms can be returned to the Office of Residence Life in Carpenter Tower Room 203.

Late Sign Up Process

Any student who has not signed up for a university residence hall will need to pay their housing deposit and complete the process by Friday, May 11 or submit a request for request for release or exemption.

Please note: All first- and second-year students, regardless of academic classification, are required to live in a university residence hall.

Students can now sign up for summer housing through the Campus Living Portal online. Housing is in Eckstein Tower of The Commons for current Marquette Students during Senior Week, Summer Session 1 and Session 2, as well as short-term housing until summer leases start.
