Community Service Partnership Framework
The Center for Community Service at Marquette University forms students who will discern their role in community through experiential community engagement. We do this through engaging with our Milwaukee-area community partners as co-educators and collaborators in service of a more just world.
We welcome and value different types of partnerships - Connected, Collaborative, or Co-Created.
Organizations share opportunities for students to support their mission, volunteer in community, and get to know Milwaukee through a broader lens. This might include one-day events, long-term volunteer roles, internships, or year of service programs. These activities and resources link students to service and assist partner agencies in fulfilling their missions.
Programs include: Community Service Fair, Peer Advising, Newsletter, Social Media, MUEngage
Community partners collaborate with staff at the Center for Community Service to support existing volunteer roles by leveraging Marquette resources and volunteers. These volunteer placements provide service opportunities and community engagement for students while assisting partner agencies in their initiatives.
Programs include: Make a Difference Day, Marquette Community Day of Service, Milwaukee Excursions: Connect & Serve, and Marquette Volunteer Corps
Community partners and Center for Community Service partner closely to co-create service roles. These partnerships are mutually beneficial, aligning agency initiatives and student learning. These programs allow students to engage deeply with issues of inequity and build sustainable relationships in community while also contributing meaningfully to the goals of the partner agency.
Programs include: Salud Social Internship Program, 414 Fellows AmeriCorps Program
