Marquette Community Day of Service
Marquette Community Day of Service (MCDoS) is the successor of former Hunger Clean-Up. Whereas Hunger Clean-Up historically had a focus on food inequity within the city of Milwaukee, previous years have broadened the scope to work with community partners involved in a wide variety of community work. transformed the program into general service, awaiting a rebranding.
Similar to Hunger Clean-Up, Marquette Community Day of Service remains a Saturday service event, open to all members of the MU community including students, faculty, staff, and alumni. On event day, participants will work with a variety of highlighted community agencies to provide services to the greater Milwaukee area. One of the many goals of the event is for students, alumni, and Milwaukee community members to engage in intentional service and form meaningful connections. This year, the event is on April 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. While check-in is held in the AMU, service takes place throughout the city of Milwaukee.
With a dedicated focus on community, the day of the event is preceded by a week of community building rooted in supporting black and brown-owned-and-run-and-run businesses and agencies within the Milwaukee area. We can’t wait for you to join us for MCDoS week and our annual day of service! Register as a team or an individual online by April 11, 2022.

What do we Know about our First Year Students: Take-Aways from the First Time, First Year Student Surveys
Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 10 – 11 a.m. via Teams (email Jen Reid for meeting link)
Administered during Orientation, the First Time, First Year Student Survey investigates students' predicted academic success, their expectations about Marquette, their concerns, and the activities in which they would like to get involved. Data are collected during New Student Orientation. In fall 2021, Marquette administered a follow-up survey to a subset of first-time, first year students in effort to understand better how students are adapting to college and how their sense of belonging, engagement with Marquette, and concerns about student life have changed. The Office of Institutional Research and Analysis will highlight some of the findings of these two surveys. This data can help us plan for future cohorts of Marquette students.
