Cathal Doherty SJ is a Jesuit priest and theologian. A linguistics professor before entering the Society of Jesus, he completed doctoral degrees in theoretical linguistics (University of California, Santa Cruz, 1993) and, as a Jesuit, in Catholic theology (Boston College, 2015), where he worked under Oliva Blanchette on Maurice Blondel’s philosophy of religion.
