In 2004, she received her Master’s of Physical Therapy degree from Marquette University. After three years as a full-time clinician, Dr. Lukaszewicz began her doctoral studies at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI under the guidance of Dr. Julian Lombard. She was an American Heart Association predoctoral fellow and conducted research on vascular biology and the changes in endothelial function associated with hypertension. Dr. Lukaszewicz received her PhD in Physiology in May 2012.
Dr. Lukaszewicz joined Marquette’s Physical Therapy Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor in July of 2012. She is currently the director of the Vascular Physiology Laboratory and her research interests focus on the vascular mechanisms of skeletal muscle fatigue in diabetic patients.
